Keetsa Eco-Friendly Mattress Company
Surviving in New York's uber-competitive retail marketplace has never been more difficult. Fortunately, San Francisco-based Keetsa Mattresses was already well on the way to becoming one of the bedding industry's most intriguing success stories.
Keetsa's eco-friendly recyclable mattresses are made with non-toxic materials such as latex, foam, wool, bamboo blend, and unbleached and organic cotton fabrics.
Keetsa's packaging innovations are also one of a kind. All products are compressed, covered in biodegradable plastic and packaged into one-hundred percent recyclable boxes with water soluble ink, which translates into a cost savings of anywhere from half to a third of traditional mattresses, making it possible for more people to sleep in comfort.
And the aesthetic cornerstones of the new store in New York are no less remarkable. Ninety percent of the materials used to construct it were recycled, reclaimed or restructured consistent with Keetsa's eco-friendly philosophy and commitment to minimizing waste.
Despite these strategic advantages, getting the word out about the new showroom would still prove to be a formidable challenge, particularly in today's oversaturated media marketplace. As a result, DM Public Relations was engaged to bolster awareness and customer demand for Keetsa products.
DM Public Relations achieved these goals through interviews and site visits that were arranged with a wide array of local, national and regional media, from The New York Times, Time Out New York, New York Magazine, the Daily News, New York Post, Time Out New York, The Village Voice and Green Air Radio's The Green Minute, Clear Channel's Green is Good Radio, and Bronxnet Television.
Our campaign also targeted niche lifestyle retail, home design and environmental media such as L.A. Splash's Bedding, Bath and Home Décor Guide 2010, Blog Talk Radio, Hamptons Magazine, New Age Retailer, Home Furnishings News and Green Business Quarterly, among many others.
These efforts solidified Keetsa's position as a leading source of organic mattresses and bedding products during a difficult retail climate and crowded media marketplace.
